SANYO Laser Products Announces the Arrival of the SANYO Blimp RICHMOND, Indiana – SANYO Laser Products announces the Richmond arrival of the SANYO Blimp. The SANYO blimp will be flying over town this weekend on Saturday, August 18th and Sunday, August 19th. Company spokesman Ross Josephson calls the blimp visit a wonderful community celebration. “SANYO is celebrating its close to 20-year relationship with Richmond, Indiana with a visit by the SANYO blimp. Over The years, our personnel have been active leaders with the civic and cultural organizations here in Richmond that help to make a difference to improve people’s lives. We’ve invited many of these same individuals, both employees and community leaders, who have contributed so much to the community for a ride on the Blimp. It’s really a part of who we are here in Richmond.” The SANYO Blimp, based in San Diego, is 165 feet long and is part of the SANYO North America Group’s celebration of 50 years of do business worldwide. The Blimp can cruise at a top speed of 65 miles per hour and fly at an altitude of up to 2,000 feet. A sixteen-member crew, operated by the Lightship Group, travels with the blimp year round and will be responsible for the Richmond, Indiana flights.
